Frequently asked questions
What the organizer can do, what still needs your review, and what is not a live service yet.
Does a complete wallet mean I am credentialed?
No. Credtend is a personal organizer for professional credentials, continuing education, documents and renewal planning. Only the responsible board, hospital, employer or issuing organization decides acceptance. Recorded progress and a sent packet are not a guarantee of licensure or privileges.
License and expiration tracking is available for all 50 states and the District of Columbia. This is nationwide tracking, not a claim that Credtend calculates compliance everywhere. New York has source-linked draft calculations for supported physician contexts. Every other state and the District of Columbia has a source-linked, checklist-only planning pack — Michigan researched 2026-09-13, the rest researched 2026-10-03 — with no earned or remaining arithmetic; two packs (Indiana and South Dakota) record that no renewal CME requirement was located in the sources read. Every state pack is a draft awaiting named domain review. Dentists and nurses (RN, LPN and APRN) have the same coverage: every state and the District of Columbia has a source-linked, checklist-only dental renewal planning pack and nursing renewal planning pack, researched 2026-10-08, with no earned or remaining arithmetic; where a jurisdiction's sources state no renewal continuing-education mandate for a route, the pack records that rather than inventing one. Every dental and nursing pack is a draft awaiting named domain review. On 2026-10-24 a second research pass went back over the advanced practice registered nurse entry in every jurisdiction for nurse practitioners and added source-linked checklist items where the sources state them — continuing-education records duties, national-certification maintenance, prescriber education in controlled substances, opioids and pharmacology, practice-hour and workforce-data attestations, and a few items that bind only nurse practitioners — each dated 2026-10-24, still a draft, with no earned or remaining arithmetic. The APRN route also covers nurse midwives, nurse anesthetists and clinical nurse specialists, so a role-specific item can appear for any APRN; read each row's wording. Board certificates are catalogued for every ABMS and AOA primary specialty and its subspecialties — cardiology, otolaryngology (ENT), the internal-medicine subspecialties, the surgical specialties, neurology, pediatrics, radiology, family medicine, emergency medicine, psychiatry, anesthesiology, obstetrics and gynecology, dermatology, ophthalmology, pathology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, preventive medicine and medical genetics — ABIM and AOBIM certificates, the surgical boards (ABS, ABTS, ABPS, ABCRS, ABNS, ABOS, ABU and the osteopathic surgical boards), ABPN, ABP, ABR, ABNM, ABFM, ABEM, ABA, ABOG, ABD, ABO, ABPath, ABPMR, ABPM and ABMGG with their osteopathic counterparts, plus ABAI, UCNS and osteopathic conjoint programs where those bodies issue the certificate — each with source-linked, draft maintenance guidance researched 2026-10-03 and no personal compliance determination; the issuer's portal remains the authority for routes and deadlines. Physical therapists and physical therapist assistants have the same coverage as physicians, dentists and nurses: every state and the District of Columbia has a source-linked, checklist-only renewal planning pack, researched 2026-10-09, with no earned or remaining arithmetic; where a jurisdiction's sources state no renewal continuing-education mandate for a route, the pack records that rather than inventing one — the PTA route in Connecticut, Hawaii and Maine, and Maine's own PT route, which carries only a mandated-reporter-training duty, not a continuing-education requirement. Sonographers are licensed by only four states — New Mexico, Oregon, North Dakota and New Hampshire — each with a source-linked, checklist-only renewal planning pack; the other 46 states and the District of Columbia carry a researched record that no state licence exists for sonographers there, citing the state's own licensing index page. Every physical therapy and sonography pack is a draft awaiting named domain review. Physician assistants have the same coverage as physicians, dentists, nurses, physical therapists and sonographers: every state and the District of Columbia has a source-linked, checklist-only renewal planning pack, researched 2026-10-10 (West Virginia 2026-10-11), with no earned or remaining arithmetic; where a jurisdiction's rule satisfies renewal continuing education only by current NCCPA certification, the pack records that condition without asserting any NCCPA number, and where a jurisdiction's rule imposes no renewal continuing-education condition at all, the pack records that rather than inventing one — Montana. Four states — Maine, Nevada, Pennsylvania and West Virginia — also license DO-supervised physician assistants through a separate osteopathic board, modeled as a second authority in the same pack. Every physician assistant pack is a draft awaiting named domain review. Social workers are tracked by licence tier: the registry lists the bachelor's tier (LBSW) in 41 jurisdictions, the master's tier (LMSW) in 48 and the clinical tier (LCSW) in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, each under the state's own licence title. Every state and the District of Columbia has a source-linked, checklist-only social work renewal planning pack, researched 2026-10-24 (Hawaii 2026-10-25), with no earned or remaining arithmetic. Every social work pack is a draft awaiting named domain review. Radiologic technologists — radiographers, nuclear medicine technologists and radiation therapists — are licensed by 38 jurisdictions, each with a source-linked, checklist-only renewal planning pack researched 2026-10-24: 38 license radiography, 33 nuclear medicine technology and 34 radiation therapy, and each pack offers only the routes its state licenses. Where a jurisdiction's sources state no renewal continuing-education mandate for a route, the pack records that rather than inventing one — New Jersey's radiation therapy and nuclear medicine routes. New Jersey's nuclear medicine technologists are licensed by a second Department of Environmental Protection body, modeled as a second authority in the same pack. Where a state's rules bind a technologist who performs mammography to its own mammography continuing education or training, the pack records that as a conditional item, not as a condition of renewing the licence itself. The other 12 states and the District of Columbia carry a researched record that no individual state licence exists there, citing the state's own pages; the District of Columbia has enacted licensure for medical radiation technology but, as of 2026-10-24, has no implementing regulations. Every radiologic technology pack is a draft awaiting named domain review. Occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants have the same coverage as physicians, dentists, nurses, physical therapists, physician assistants and social workers: every state and the District of Columbia has a source-linked, checklist-only renewal planning pack, researched 2026-10-27, with no earned or remaining arithmetic, and every jurisdiction's authority offers both the occupational therapist and the occupational therapy assistant route. Fourteen jurisdictions state different requirements for the two routes and carry a separate entry for each. Where a jurisdiction's sources state that current NBCOT certification satisfies the continuing-education requirement as one alternative, the pack records that condition without asserting any NBCOT number, and where a jurisdiction's sources state no renewal continuing-education requirement, the pack records that rather than inventing one — Hawaii. New Jersey has enacted a continuing-competence requirement that is not yet operative and sets no hours yet, and New Mexico's occupational therapy board terminates on July 1, 2027 under the state's own sunset provision; each pack says so. Every occupational therapy pack is a draft awaiting named domain review. Professional counselors and marriage and family therapists have the same coverage as physicians, dentists, nurses, physical therapists, physician assistants, social workers and occupational therapists: every state and the District of Columbia has a source-linked, checklist-only renewal planning pack for each profession, researched 2026-10-28 and 2026-10-29, with no earned or remaining arithmetic. Every jurisdiction's authority offers the independent licence; where a board issues and renews an associate licence held while completing supervised practice (38 jurisdictions for professional counselors and 37 for marriage and family therapists), the associate route has its own entry, and where that licence carries no renewal duty the entry says so. Supervised-practice hours are not counted as continuing education. Where a jurisdiction's sources make a national certification a renewal condition or a continuing-education alternative, the pack records that condition without asserting any certification number, and where a jurisdiction's sources state no renewal continuing-education requirement, the pack records that rather than inventing one — Hawaii's counseling licences. Every professional counseling and marriage and family therapy pack is a draft awaiting named domain review. BLS, ACLS and ALS cards from the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross are catalogued certificates available to every profession, tracked by their printed two-year expiration with no continuing-education arithmetic. National sonography registries are catalogued too: ARDMS's RDCS and RVT carry source-linked, draft maintenance guidance with the registry's own stated credit target and cadence, and no personal compliance determination; CCI's RCS and RVS carry source-linked, draft guidance — 36 CEUs per triennial cycle, as CCI states it — without a calculated target. NCCPA's PA-C certificate carries source-linked, draft maintenance guidance with NCCPA's own stated credit target and cadence — 100 CME credits every two years within a ten-year certification-maintenance cycle, as NCCPA states it — and no personal compliance determination. National radiologic technology registries are catalogued too: ARRT's Radiography, Nuclear Medicine Technology and Radiation Therapy credentials carry source-linked, draft maintenance guidance with one shared requirement of 24 Category A or A+ CE credits every two years, however many ARRT credentials are held, as ARRT states it, and NMTCB's CNMT carries source-linked, draft guidance — 24 continuing education hours every two years, as NMTCB states it — without a calculated target; neither carries a personal compliance determination. NASW's voluntary social work specialty credentials are catalogued with source-linked, draft renewal guidance as NASW states it, also without a personal compliance determination. Occupational therapy credentials are catalogued too: NBCOT's OTR and COTA registry credentials and AOTA's independent board and specialty certifications (six of them renewable by current holders only and catalogued as legacy) carry source-linked, draft renewal guidance as each issuer states it, without a personal compliance determination. Counseling and marriage and family therapy credentials are catalogued too: NBCC's National Certified Counselor and its specialty certifications (the Master Addictions Counselor certification is catalogued as legacy), CRCC's Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, CCE's Approved Clinical Supervisor and Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider, and AAMFT's Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor designations carry source-linked, draft renewal guidance as each issuer states it, without a personal compliance determination. Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians have source-linked draft checklist-only renewal packs in all 51 jurisdictions; Delaware credentials pharmacists only. Pharmacy CE hours are distinct from other professions’ credits, and no earned or remaining arithmetic or personal compliance determination is made. BPS, PTCB and NHA certifications have source-linked draft guidance. EMTs, advanced EMTs and paramedics have source-linked draft checklist-only renewal packs in all 51 jurisdictions; Delaware's EMT and paramedic credentials sit with different offices, and Delaware, Florida and New Jersey have no advanced EMT route. EMS CE hours are distinct from other professions’ credits, and no earned or remaining arithmetic or personal compliance determination is made. NREMT and IBSC certifications have source-linked draft guidance. The organizer now covers thirteen professions — physician, dentistry, nursing, physical therapy, sonography, physician assistants, social work, radiologic technology, occupational therapy, professional counseling, marriage and family therapy, pharmacy and EMS — and the interactive demonstration can start an empty fictional wallet in any of them. Draft, conflicting and unclear requirements stay marked for review.
For physicians, AMA PRA Category 1 Credit, ABIM MOC points and training hours are separate awards, not interchangeable units. Every profession's credit units stay separate in the same way.
I'm not a physician — does Credtend work for me?
Yes, in beta. Credtend has renewal checklists for physicians, dentists, nurses (RN, LPN and APRN), physical therapists and physical therapist assistants, sonographers, physician assistants, social workers (LBSW, LMSW and LCSW), radiologic technologists (radiography, nuclear medicine and radiation therapy), occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants, professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, EMTs, advanced EMTs and paramedics. Physicians, dentists, nurses, physical therapists, physician assistants, social workers, occupational therapy practitioners, professional counselors and marriage and family therapists are covered in all 50 states and DC. Pharmacy has a draft checklist in all 51 jurisdictions; Delaware credentials pharmacists only. EMS has a draft checklist for EMTs and paramedics in all 51 jurisdictions and for advanced EMTs everywhere except Delaware, Florida and New Jersey. BPS, PTCB and NHA certifications are tracked when held, as are NREMT and IBSC certifications. Radiologic technologists are licensed by 38 jurisdictions; elsewhere Credtend records that no individual state licence exists. Sonographers are licensed by only four states (New Mexico, Oregon, North Dakota and New Hampshire); in every state Credtend also tracks the ARDMS and CCI registry credentials, radiologic technologists' ARRT and NMTCB credentials, occupational therapy practitioners' NBCOT and AOTA credentials, and the NBCC, CRCC, CCE and AAMFT credentials held by counselors and marriage and family therapists. BLS and ACLS cards are tracked for everyone.
Every checklist is a draft awaiting professional review, and none is a compliance determination. Board certification modules cover physician specialties; physician assistants' NCCPA PA-C certification is tracked too. The rest of the wallet — licenses, documents, education records in your profession's own credit units, the calendar and credentialing packets — is available to every profession.
Why might a hospital ask for more?
Each institution’s current instructions control. Applications, releases, privilege requests, references, source verification and occupational-health clearance may require separate processes. Locums agency processing and hospital privileging are related but distinct. Do not assume every site requires the same BLS, ACLS or health records.
An item missing from a public checklist is unknown, not automatically unnecessary. Your personal copy does not replace required primary-source verification.
What can I upload?
The private wallet accepts PDF, PNG and JPEG files up to 8 MiB each. Files remain quarantined until a configured scanner clears them. A clean scan does not verify authenticity, accuracy, expiration or institutional acceptance.
You may leave the issuing organization blank and attach one supporting file to a credential, either by uploading it or selecting an eligible existing document. A multi-page PDF can contain several pages. Replacing or removing the association does not delete the underlying document. A linked document cannot be deleted until its references are removed.
Do not upload patient records, identifiable case logs, Social Security numbers, full birth dates, bank details, passwords, MFA codes or portal credentials. Restricted requests are separate tasks, never packet attachments. Ask for an authorized delegation method instead of sharing account access. Confirm whether occupational health should receive a clearance letter rather than sending detailed health records to a medical-staff office.
What does an evidence preview show?
A preview is a bounded PNG for first-page recognition, not an interactive PDF or proof of validity. Scan-cleared is not issuer-verified. Eligible private previews require your owned, MFA-protected account and a fresh file-bound security scan; the larger view reuses the same derivative. Originals remain guarded attachment downloads.
Hide previews in Diplomas & records or Settings conceals images across the wallet, including certification evidence. Filenames remain visible. Private images are transient, with no persistent private image cache; hiding, navigation and sign-out cancel pending work and release them. If previews are disabled, unsupported or unavailable, guarded Download remains available for clean files. Private rendering stays disabled until deployment-specific renderer controls are accepted.
Can I prepare or send a credentialing packet?
The workspace compares an editable request checklist with eligible evidence already in your wallet, fills unambiguous ordinary-document matches and shows what is missing or needs review. Packet contents are selected and reviewed separately from state views and whole-wallet exports. It never automatically selects health records, restricted requests, checklist files, unknown-role legacy uploads, quarantined/rejected files or known-expired evidence. Ambiguous matches need your choice. A final exact-file and exact-recipient review remains mandatory before a selected-only ZIP or invitation.
Text-based PDF checklist extraction runs after scan clearance; scanned, encrypted or unreadable PDFs require manual entry. Extracted lines are suggestions, not verified requirements. A request PDF is not credential evidence. No remote OCR or AI extraction service is used in this increment.
Secure email invitation and recipient-code routes are implemented but hosted sharing remains configuration- and launch-gated. It needs approved operation, HTTPS, configured private storage, scanning, mail and explicit operator/contact values. An unconfigured preview does not send email. When enabled, the invitation carries a neutral expiring link, not documents attached to email.
Health records need separate consent. Changing a recipient, requirement or file invalidates the previous review. Email-provider acceptance is not confirmed delivery; inbox verification is not proof of hospital employment; a recorded download authorization is not proof that a file was saved or accepted.
Why are board, hospital and historical totals different?
The overview separates required, recorded and remaining amounts by credit system and reporting window. For physicians, ABIM MOC points are not automatically earned by recording AMA CME. ENT continuing certification also includes board-specific assessment and quality-improvement obligations that cannot be represented as one generic MOC total. Internal-medicine subspecialty certificates share one ABIM MOC point pool but each carries its own assessment route; osteopathic, ABAI, surgical-board and every other board's certificates (ABPN, ABP, ABR, ABNM, ABFM, ABEM, ABA, ABOG, ABD, ABO, ABPath, ABPMR, ABPM, ABMGG) follow their own continuing-certification programs and never count toward ABIM points.
Add each hospital, credentialing department or locums agency’s own education target and source. These are user-entered requirements, not independently verified institutional rules. One activity may contribute to more than one independent requirement without being duplicated in your ledger. Unknown reporting dates remain needs review. Historical totals are not a compliance calculation.
Where are expiration and renewal dates?
Overview and Calendar have independent state scope controls, so changing one does not silently change the other. Calendar brings credential expirations, board/state/federal deadlines and institution reporting dates into month and agenda views. Its labeled ICS download follows Calendar’s selected state or all-state scope. The whole-wallet ZIP always includes all tracked states, regardless of either on-screen state selection. Importing an ICS file does not create a live synchronized calendar subscription.
Undated items are listed separately rather than assigned a guessed deadline. Renewal plan retains the detailed source-linked requirements and progress view. Check dates against your board and institution portals.
Can you help me find CME courses and medical-school transcripts?
CME Courses (CE Courses for professions that count continuing education in other units) lists courses from accredited providers with the price, format, length, the credits each provider states and the sources we checked. A course is shown as one that could count toward an open requirement only when the provider states a credit in exactly that requirement's credit system, or the provider or the authority names the requirement. Credtend never converts or equates credit systems, and every match is draft wording, not a compliance determination.
Some listings carry a commercial relationship, labeled Affiliate link, Sponsored or Credtend course next to the link. Those relationships never change which courses fit or their order. Links carry no wallet data, and Credtend adds no click tracking. Opening a course does not enroll you, import credits or record completion; confirm your own applicability and save the provider’s certificate. Fictional sample listings appear only in the demo. Accredited providers can ask to be listed on the Partners page.
The MD/DO transcript directory, for physicians, lives under Diplomas & records, and on the public Medical school records page. It includes current U.S. program and location rosters, Puerto Rico and separately labeled developing programs. Verified transcript instructions are distinguished from registrar or school-site fallbacks; full request-link and historical closed-school verification is not complete. Schools may require direct delivery, authorization or a fee. The wallet does not order records or replace required primary-source verification.
What happens in the demo?
The demo uses fictional browser-local records. It makes no private API calls and sends no actual email. Packet downloads contain only selected built-in fictional text files, clearly labeled as demonstrations. Real files chosen through the demo input are not read or stored, and their contents are not extracted. The separate fictional text-PDF example uses built-in sample text, not the uploaded PDF.
Only the exact bundled fictional-sample-evidence.pdf record has the clearly labeled fictional preview artwork. A file you select is metadata-only and shows Preview unavailable in demo; the artwork is never presented as that selected file’s contents.
Do not enter real personal information. Refreshing clears packet workspace drafts and simulated events. Simulated send and revoke events create no production recipient link.
Can I recall a downloaded document?
No. Revocation and expiry stop future service access, not completed or in-flight downloads or copies already forwarded. A sealed packet snapshot does not update when you edit wallet records. Prepare a newly reviewed version when evidence changes.
Does a continuing-education provider see my whole wallet?
The implemented integration is a signed completion-import channel with explicit consent, not general wallet access. A signature establishes the message’s origin, not that a board accepts the activity. You can revoke future imports.
How do I get help or delete my account?
This is a development preview. The Contact page shows only explicitly configured channels. A production account-deletion process, retention policy and tested private-data restoration workflow still need operational acceptance. No deletion turnaround or public response time is promised.
